And so it begins. I finally bought my wife the old camping trailer she has had her eye on for two years for her birthday last week. To say "it's rough" is an understatement. Turns out it's a 1959-1960ish Garwood Homes trailer. I have searched the Internet and cannot find anything about them, other than they make military trailers now. There is severe dry rot in the back left corner, and the roof has leaked in numerous places. At first, we were going to shine shit and camp out, but after doing a little rip and tear, I think I want to rehab the whole thing. We got it for a song, so I can invest a bit and still make a profit if we decide to move up. For now, I ripped out the inside back panels to see how much rot I am dealing with. As I live in Phoenix, and it is the beginning of August, we are in the middle of monsoon season, so I can't do much to the outside.
I have begun to strip the paint on the outside, as well as slowly dismantle the inside cabinets, kitchen, etc. to rebuild. Here are a couple pic's:
